Joint Venture Plans $130m Sydney Airport Hotel
Date: 7 October 2021
The borders are yet to reopen but a new joint venture is already on the development runway with plans for a $130-million hotel project near Sydney Airport.
Bill Moss’s Boston Global has teamed with Atlas Investment Corporation and construction firm Hickory to develop a 12-storey hotel tower at Mascot.
A development application for the proposed 224-room upmarket hotel on a 2095sq m corner “gateway” site to the airport has been lodged with the Bayside Council.
It follows the recent federal government announcement of a staged reopening of Australia’s international borders, which will begin around November.
“In our first partnership together, we are thrilled to have reached this landmark milestone alongside our strategic partners Hickory and Boston Global,” Atlas director Alexander Rodakis said.
“As we emerge from these challenging times, this project represented an opportunity to secure a well-located site with excellent potential and investment in our local economy.
“This project is a significant development for the region, with a high-quality offering in an important gateway location, which will be viewed by international and domestic travellers both in and out of Sydney airport.”
